Why build with hip?

Superior Structural Strength

Whilst HIP possesses unique attributes, its principles are rooted in established practices from the concrete industry.  Consequently, HIP stands as one of the most structurally advanced engineered products available in today's marketplace.

Fire Rating - Euroclass A1

Protection of family and home has to be a primary requirement for any project.

HIP can provide A1 Classification, the highest requirement of fire protection, and a level that is way beyond what most other build methods can achieve.

Multiple Cladding
Options

HIP.Build can be finished with any form of cladding, whether directly applied such as render, brick-slips, vinyl siding or timber; or cavity systems such as traditional brick or stone.

Basically, any domestic or commercial option is viable.

Functional Thermal Mass

By incorporating insulation into the exterior and eliminating the need for plasterboard, HIP provides a robust mass structure that will function as a thermal store within the house envelope.  This distinctive characteristic, exclusive to HIP, is likely to resonate with environmentally conscious individuals.   Click to find out more.

Time Costs
Money

Weekly hire charges and wages can prove expensive.  With HIP every element is designed, costed and scheduled.  This means costly delays are no longer an issue.

Couple this to speed of build, a HIP.Build home is complete in a fraction of the time and without complication and stress caused by delays.

Construction
Costs

HIP.Build properties are surprising cost effective to construct, especially when the quality they provide is also factored into the thought process

Running
Costs

How much your home costs to run is one of the most impressive benefits of our HIP.Build homes.  The thing often not considered is future maintenance and rebuild costs which, with the solidity of a HIP home will come a lot later than other construction methods.

Lifespan of a HIP
Structure

The average newbuild house is built for maximum profit and a lifespan of a few decades.

Due to structural strength coupled to smart modern thinking, HIP.Build homes will have the longevity of structures such as the Pantheon in Rome, but without the maintenance costs associated with a historical landmark or any other build systems.

First Fix
Preparation

No more chasing out for the electrician.  Every socket and switch has trunking pre-installed when the panels are made, making installation almost 'plug and play'.

Modern or traditional?

While HIP might be seen as a 'Modern Method of Construction' it retains familiar characteristics for those accustomed to traditional techniques... albeit on a larger format!

Thermal
Performance

Insulation levels,  passivehouse, simplify other elements

Acoustic
Performance

The substantial mass and insulation properties of HIP helps to effectively manage airborne and impact noise to meet the specific requirements of any property, be it a detached dwelling or one sharing a party wall.

Air Pressure
Testing

lack of joints, well sealed junctions, windows and penetrations

Moisture and Infestation

nothing to rot rust or corode.  with a fully sealed system with concrete at the heart means infestation is a thing of the past

Environmental
Impact

link to biodiversity, less traffic and staff, quicker build, centralised production, no site waste, production waste recycled, no constant saws and drills, radios, no pollutants

Materials and
Waste

storage and handling damage of vast array of components scattered around a building site.

Creation and disposal of waste

Neighbourhood
Impact

quicker, less people, equipment, site machinery, ins and outs, wider area impact, minimal dust and noise

Associated
Components

foundations, floors, roofs, and partners for all structural and operational components that go into a build

Passive-House
Standard

can be designed to comply for even the most rigourous of specs

Design and Build
Packages

we do all the design with or without your architect, to full shell, full turn key can be provided with our build partners

Project
Management

we can take care of all everything so that you can relax in the knowledge that everything is sorted

Funding the Build Cost

There is benefit in us sorting your funding.  the reason is that our partners not only understand our build system but release funds at the begining of each phase rather than after, so that the schedule can progress smoothly.

Site
Insurance

Through our partners we can arrange all site, and ongoing insurance for all of our projects.

Build
Warranty

Again our partners understand our system and also appreciate the repetition of their assessment which ensures a smooth transition from concept to completion.

Building
Control

We only work with specific partners.  This is because they understand our system and appreciate the repetition of their assessment which ensures a smooth transition from concept to completion.

Why build with hip

Superior Structural Strength

While HIP possesses unique attributes, its principles are rooted in established practices from the concrete industry.  Consequently, HIP stands as one of the most structurally advanced engineered products available in today's marketplace.

Fire Rating - Euroclass A1

An A2-s1,d0 classification, as stipulated by the European standard BS EN 13501-1, establishes the criteria necessary for high-rise construction, which far exceeds the requirements required for residential buildings. However, HIP further enhances these standards by offering A1 classification alternatives, to provide an even higher level of fire resistance and non-combustibility.
